Theme 16: The Warmth of the Fire Within

ANNOUNCEMENTS: This is the official call for the Mini-Monthly! Please send in your submissions no later than Saturday, April 25th at midnight. The new works will be shown on Monday, April 27th!

The forum discussion about the Thursday Sweet Treat Second Grade Class project will be on Wednesday, April 29th. All details will be given at the beginning of next week. Thank you to those who have already emailed with suggestions. I will be responding shortly but thank you, I love it all!

How you choose to interpret the theme is completely up to you. It simply needs to be tasteful – no pornography or messages of hate here. When you sit down to create, you cannot think about how people will or will not receive your work. You are required to simply enjoy the act of creating. Please see the bottom of this post for how to submit a response.

"In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit." ~ Albert Schweitzer
(This quote is simply a gift from me to you...it reminds me of all of you. Hugs, Natasha)

“The most powerful weapon on earth is the human soul on fire.” ~ Marshal Ferdinand Foch

“Words are only painted fire; a look is the fire itself” ~ Mark Twain

"Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark, in the hopeless swamps of the approximate, the not-quite, the not-yet, the not-at-all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish, in lonely frustration for the life you deserved, but have never been able to reach. Check your road and the nature of your battle. The world you desired can be won, it exists, it is real, it is possible, it's yours.” ~Ayn Rand

"Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable.” ~ Bruce Lee

Important Guidelines

The work submitted must be something you have created and/or worked on between the time the theme was revealed and the Thursday unveiling. Please submit your response to Natasha@creativenachos.com no later than end of day Wednesday, April 29th if you would like it to be posted on Thursday, April 30th. OR send me a link to your response to include in the comments section of the post.

With your response please include:

1. Your name - either first name, shop name or both.

2. The name of your piece (if you choose to give it one)

3. Something you'd like to share (process of creation, idea behind piece) if you'd like to share anything

4. The shop and/or blog links you'd like to include

5. Two photos of your piece or of each of the pieces (3x5 or 4x6 and 72dpi or a max of 96dpi - if you need any help with that please don't worry I'd be happy to help!)

Most importantly, let that inner fire build and glow brightly! Enjoy yourself :)

I actually have that first photo on my computer somewhere.
I have some bits and pieces I've been meaning to work on that I think will do wonderfully for this project!

This sounds especially nice and warm...since here in South Dakota, yesterday was eighty degrees and I wore shorts and a sleeveless shirt...and now it's SNOWING. Snowing! Sigh. Come back, spring... :)

Seriously, lovely theme and I'm excited. ;)

"the warmth of the fire within"--makes me think of how much work it takes to keep a fire going . . who knows where this will lead, artistically??? Oh, I DO love being prodded and pulled and teased by these prompts each week!

Oooh!... I love that one.
As everyone one around me who is remotely interested in astrology will tell you with wide eyes and a sigh: I am a leo.
'Nough said, right?

Not so easy to make all that fire into an object though...
