Theme 14: Just Beyond the Keyhole of Imagination Lies...

How you choose to interpret the theme is completely up to you. It simply needs to be tasteful – no pornography or messages of hate here. When you sit down to create, you cannot think about how people will or will not receive your work. You are required to simply enjoy the act of creating. Please see the bottom of this post for how to submit a response.

"What is a scientist after all? It is a curious man looking through a keyhole, the keyhole of nature, trying to know what's going on." ~ Jacques Cousteau

If you gave your imagination complete freedom to roam, if you believed there were absolutely no limits to where your mind could take you, I wonder what magnificence, what brilliance you would find just beyond the keyhole?

Important Guidelines

The work submitted must be something you have created and/or worked on between the time the theme was revealed and the Thursday unveiling. Please submit your response to Natasha@creativenachos.com no later than end of day Wednesday, April 15th if you would like it to be posted on Thursday, April 16th. OR send me a link to your response to include in the comments section of the post.

With your response please include:

1. Your name - either first name, shop name or both.

2. The name of your piece (if you choose to give it one)

3. Something you'd like to share (process of creation, idea behind piece) if you'd like to share anything

4. The shop and/or blog links you'd like to include

5. Two photos of your piece or of each of the pieces (3x5 or 4x6 and 72dpi or a max of 96dpi - if you need any help with that please don't worry I'd be happy to help!)

For this theme, let your imagination travel to the end of the Universe. Let yourself truly, truly believe that there are no limitations! Play, play, play!

Wow... I have NO idea where this one will lead, but how exciting! This reminded me of one of my favorite quotes from t.s. eliot:
"...Footfalls echo in the memory / Down the passage which we did not take / Towards the door we never opened / Into the rose-garden."

Can't wait to start playing!

Amanda - I LOVE that quote...thank you so much for sharing that ... I love the images that come to mind with it...I hope this week's theme doesn't seem daunting...I wanted it to feel expansive because I like the idea of exploring what we would find if we were allowed to "peek"...different worlds? people doing..what? colors, sounds, words, images OR what might we find if we looked through the keyhole of our own heart?

I'm really enjoying playing with this one...I hope everyone else truly releases into this....

Marja - YAY....I'm so glad you are playing as well....I think this is exciting...who knows what we will all find...what we will share...I'm excited to explore..I love that Cousteau quote too...although I thought it should be, "It's a curious person looking..." because man or woman, we are all curious!

Natasha, I particularly love the themes that make me stretch--that's why I'm here! Loved your phrase about looking into the keyhole of our hearts...that made me shiver. I may end up with a couple of pieces again this week.

I keep meaning to go back and try each theme again--usually I finally hit my stride toward the end, and it's too late to try again!

Amanda - I just love ya...you are SO filled with goodness and are so talented...I'm glad to know you...and I agree these themes really push me...I'm with you on that idea of finding your stride late and have some ideas about that ...perhaps the new space will allow for some more room to explore...have I mentioned yet that I'm excited to see what you create..because I am!!

another interesting, thought-provoking theme. i so missed paying last week, and i'm not sure about this week either. (going out of town! yeah!) maybe i will get some time to do something. i hate it when i don't play!

Interesting...I'm happy with the fact that last week I had a set direction right away and this time I had no idea what to do. It's interesting how different themes will do that.
I decided what to do tonight. And in fact, being everywhere at once is exactly what I am going to do :)

I could go so many places with this but I have the added challenge of being away from home (house hunting aptly enough) with a very limited supply set so my imagination will be exploring the world of the possible!

Hi all,
Cool theme Natasha. I am going to do my best to play! Not sure, but since I just opened a new cane shop, maybe I'll make a complex cane...Hm, might have to start out large...;)))) See y'all Thursday!
