After watching Shaun White's amazing gold-medal performances on the half-pipe, I definitely have to say snowboarder! His joy was so radiant--it was incredibly inspiring.

Of course, I'd fall on my butt, but hopefully that would be..umm, incredibly inspiring too. ;)

Boy, this is a hard choice, both sports have some amazing tricks. I think I'll go with Amanda and say I want to be a Snowboarder in the half-pipe. I've been watching that in Winter X-Games for years, and its amazing how far the athletes have "pushed the envelope" in just a few years.

LMAO - Amanda that was a hilarious answer! I've been talking about Mr. White since that win I dream of snowboarding and plan to do it next winter so while I agree with Trina this is tough I would say snowboarder as well! And YES falling on my butt would be inspiring - it would inspire me to get back up and have fun to forget my soar tush LOL

As much as I love watching Shaun and the other snowboarders - I admit I like having my feet on the ground a bit more - or closer to it anyway - even if it's ice, so I'm going with skating - I loved ice skating when I was younger. Snowboarding does look like it's a kick! (in the butt! )hehe

well . . . you DID leave it open for us to choose OTHER sports . .. so I vote in favor of Olympic dancing!!! Anything where I can shake my boot-tee!!!

Definitely SNOWBOARDING! I love it! Just got back from a two week Utah snowboarding trip and my knees are still in pain, but well worth every minute of it. Although I will never be even one tenth as good as Shaun White, I did get to meet him 3 years ago in Park City and it was AWESOME! Look for it in one of my upcoming blogs.

Lisian - LOL soo true it is a kick in the butt sometimes I would imagine...ice skating is such fun..I haven't gone in so long ...now I want to ..well, have to wait till next year when Nacho #2 is here....

Aqua - YOU have been on fire recently!!! I LOVE it!! You are sooo funny - did you see it last night?? I was blown away...yes bootee shaking would be great!!

LisaBongZee - are you serious????? That's so awesome I wish I could have been on your snowboarding trip with you - how long have you been snowboarding? Do you surf too? I ask because I want to know if its similar to surfing...and you met him?? Was he cool? He looks like a fun guy to grab a beer with!!

Hi Natasha ~

It is a blast once you learn. I have been snowboarding about 8 years now. It's not as easy as you'd think though. Surfing is much easier, and much softer landing when you eat it!! To me, snowboarding feels more like water skiing than surfing. Except when you are coming down the wall of the pipe, then it feels like you are on a HUGE North Shore Wave!!

Shaun was super cool. It was so fun to meet him, although I bet at the time, he wasn't even OLD ENOUGH for a beer! Ha ha! Check this out:

Aqua!! When I first read your response I thought you meant "ice dancing" which I'd seen pieces of the night before and it was amazing but I now realize you meant "dancing" and I want you to know I laughed so hard I almost fell off my bed!!!! LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!

Lisabongzee - you just brought back a memory of the first time I went water skiing ... I didn't know that when you fell backwards while still holding on you can't pull yourself back up and dragged my butt across the water for a LONG time LOL!! It was a sight but I LOVED it..now I'm ever more eager to try snowboarding!!! Have you surfed a long time??

I'm so psyched to head over to your blog and check out that link!!
Aloha!! Man I soooo dig sayin that! LOL

I'm such a wimp - I hate being cold! I think the Olympics are best enjoyed from the comfort of a warm bed (since they are keeping me up late these days). But OK if I had to choose between the two I would take skating, because I would love to be that graceful and flexible, which I am NOT.

I'd have to go with snowboarding. It's not about being pretty or happy on demand, it's about you, your board and the snow...and your sponsors of course!
