Theme 31: Participant's Choice With a Twist

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: After all the craziness of this summer, my little family has decided that we need a little time away to reconnect, heal and prepare for a strong comeback this Fall. Fall is more like New Year's to me than the new year is anyway. So, I will be stepping back now till the very beginning of September but don't go away, I will be popping in occassionally AND Felicia Kramer, creator of Another Bright Idea and Amanda, creator of Persistent Green will be posting fun things on Monday and Wednesday so tune in and celebrate them!!!!

PARTICIPANT'S CHOICE WITH A TWIST

With the past Participant Choice themes you have been asked to pick one theme and create something. Well this time we're going to get a little crazy. Feel free to pick up to 5 themes and create, create, create. Why? Because this time we are extending the submission deadline!! This special edition of the Thursday Sweet Treat will be unveiled on Thursday, September 3rd!! That's right you get almost 3 weeks to play!! The summer is coming to an end and Fall will be upon us before we know it so let's have some fun!!!

There have been a total of 30 themes since this blog started. There is a list of all the themes to the right of this post. (Thanks for the suggestion, Felicia.) I tried to add links to each one but my computer was protesting. I'm sorry. The list begins with the first theme in January 2009 and runs through to the present day. In order to view a theme just click on a month in the archive and check it out.

Please feel free to choose up to 5 themes that you would like to create something for. It's important to note that this differs slightly from the Mini-Monthly in that your submission cannot be something that you already started. You may have seen a theme and thought of an idea but not started the work on it. Your submission needs to be something you will begin working on now. All themes are up for grabs so dive in and if you find something in the archives that you are passionate about - go for it!

Important Guidelines

The work submitted must be something you have created and/or worked on between the time the theme was revealed and the THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 3rd unveiling. Please submit your response to Natasha@creativenachos.com no later than end of day Wednesday, September 2nd if you would like it to be posted on THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 3rd. OR send me a link to your response to include in the comments section of the post.

With your response please include:

1. Your name - either first name, shop name or both.

2. The theme you chose and the name of your piece (if you choose to give it one)

3. Something you'd like to share (process of creation, idea behind piece) if you'd like to share anything. Please limit this to 2-3 sentences

4. The shop and/or blog links you'd like to include

5. Two photos of your piece or of each of the pieces (3x5 or 4x6 and 72dpi or a max of 96dpi - if you need any help with that please don't worry I'd be happy to help!)

Most importantly, celebrate summer and play!

How very kyool indeed! :-) What a wonderful way to keep us 'occupied' during your vacation. :-D And how awesome that we will still be getting our weekly Treatlets! :-) Yay to Felicia & Amanda for doing them! :-)

Def. playing in this one - it will let me empty out some of my 'pulled the pieces, but never started' backlog! (In other words - what Salvaged said! :-D)

Natasha,

Enjoy your break from the blogging world. We will miss you and will look forward to your return.

Thanks Felicia and Amanda for keeping things running in Natasha's absence. I look forward to what you two will share.

I love this participants choice with a twist idea. This is perfect for me since it often takes me more than one week to complete a piece. I'm off to look at the long list of options. I can't believe there are so many. This year has really flown by too quick.

Miss you Natasha, see you soon.

I hope you all have a wonderful vacation.
I'm excited about this theme! There were some themes that I didn't get to do that I really wanted to and I'm happy to get another chance.

Natasha, enjoy your respite, and enjoy your family. I know I will look forward to some extra time to play, especially since my little Cassie wants to join in and play with this theme, too.

Felicia and Amanda, thanks so much for posting in the next few weeks. I can't wait to see what comes.

Take care everyone!

OH!!! I am SO excited for this! I just love seeing all of our wonderful themes in the sidebar. I hope that's a permanent feature. I'm such a nerd that I've often wanted to re-do many of the art projects I was assigned in college, since I didn't get it quite the way I wanted the first time... now we get to try again here. :D Love it, love it! Inspired idea.

Thanks, Tash, for inviting me to help share while you're gone--what an honor.
