Bird - Fame made me seriously dance in the streets...loved it! Such an awesome pick...
Jolene - like I totally loved Footloose like it was sooo tubular! (Said the victim of that infectious Valley Girl disease) LOL!
Trina - SOOO true...I think I'd dig dancing in both but I would not have been able to keep a straight face when he says, "Nobody puts baby in the corner!"
I am of another generation....but I loved them both. The guys were awesome, the dancing was fabulous. I loved the story line in Foot Loose, but Dirty Dancing is one of my favorites.
As a child I wanted to be a dancer on a t.v. variety show! HAHA!
I would have to choose Foot Loose though. Fun, wild and crazy music! Love it!
As a kid I used to pretend I was doing the dancing in "Flashdance". Maybe since the movie was made and based in my hometown I could image myself in the various scenes. I also LOVED the music.
I would go with Dirty Dancing, corny as the acting was! I could watch the dancing over and over, and it takes me back to my teen years when the "bad" boy was the one who was so mysterious and sexy! Fame is also a good one. Footloose didn't do too much for me.
It was also this movie that made me go out with my guy. He was quoting from it, then got embarrassed when I caught him at it. But I knew what he was quoting.
Plus, if you saw SYTYCD, Evan was totally a Gene Kelly type. More dancing like that!
However, I did sort of go to the Fame school... or that which it became in real life.
Kathy - you are a riot! Yes the guys were awesome and the dancing was awesome! Tell me, what variety show was it??
Jodi...oh Jodi! Flashdance was amazing!! I used to LOVE that flick too...and the music...well, I'm chair dancing just thinking about it.
Felicia - you rock! I totally agree that the dancing in Dirty Dancing was out of this world...what fun...oh the bad boy..why is it we always like the bad boys?? Hehe....and I was waiting for someone to pull out Fred and Ginger...I mean they were ..classic. When they danced it seemed ...like they were on a cloud and they had SUCH fun....I'm with you...I'd love to dance like Ginger with a Fred in a movie...ah to dream!
Rowena - I mean really?? Singing in the rain was one of my ALL time favs....from Good Mornin' Goood Mooornin' to the classic Singing in the Rain...I can't hold an umbrella without wanting to twirl it, jump in puddles and dance...I know I'm a dork...I jump in puddles now because my kid does so I feel like I can get away with it....what's SYTYCD? AND what line did your guy quote...talk about well met!
And guess what I went to what became the Fame school for a bit...how bizarre is that???
Oh, I would love to be in both! But if I have to make a choice (why??) then I have got to say Footloose! I can just jump around and it's cool! On your next visit, grab an award, mi amiga!
Jenjen...I love the idea of jumping around in Footloose...LOL so awesome and I will totally be by for the award!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! And it's soo mean to make you choose isn't it hehehe
Janie - I agree 100% anytime..anywhere in fact let's all chair dance right NOW!
But my true favourite would be a French oldie— which features Gene Kelly— "Les Demoiselles de Rochefort", by Jacques Demy and Michel Legrand. i only have to put the soundtrack on and I am swivelling and bouncing all over the place with a happy, silly '60s smile on.
Meherio68 - ok just the idea of you "swivelling and bouncing all over the place with a happy, silly '60s smile on." makes me happy...and Gene Kelly...I mean is it me or does the man just make you want to dance and smile...he rocks....now I want to see that French oldie!
Amber - rock on! I LOVE that you love ot dance whether people are watching or not...do you close your eyes if people are around or just go for it and lose yourself?
I'm totally blanking on the title, but it's a recent movie with J-Lo and Richard Gere. I'd dance in that in a heartbeat . . .I was too scared to dance for most of my life, until I started linedancing and duodancing 5 years ago. I'd only dance in a room with the shades pulled and my front door locked!!! Now I'll dance ANYwhere--and hey, my linedancers are an opening act tomorrow night here in Spearfish!!! Plus I now help TEACH a duo-dance class!!

Greetings!
I haven't seen either version yet, but from what I understand of them, I'd choose 'Fame', for the following-of-Dreams that they comprise. :-)
The ad for the current one makes me want to fly. :-)
BB & GF! :-)

Jolene
Natasha, what a wonderful "would you rahter" to consider...
I'd much rather dance in Footloose, but I'd totally rather watch Dirty Dancing (its one of my guilty pleasures).
Can't wait to see what everyone else will pick!

Also, I'm dating myself, but I still like to watch the old Fred and Ginger movies ...
OMG, I've got a write in ballot.
Singing in the Rain!
Call me an old fashioned gal.
It was also this movie that made me go out with my guy. He was quoting from it, then got embarrassed when I caught him at it. But I knew what he was quoting.

I think Footloose. But, I think any time or any thing you can dance to is good!

I'm more of a Flashdance maniac myself...
But my true favourite would be a French oldie— which features Gene Kelly— "Les Demoiselles de Rochefort", by Jacques Demy and Michel Legrand. i only have to put the soundtrack on and I am swivelling and bouncing all over the place with a happy, silly '60s smile on.
