Exceptional Artists Gather to Create Work That Will Send You Over the Moon

I am so bummed that I was unable to get my piece done for this week because every single piece here is PHENOMENAL!

These talented, sensational, professional artists will make you long to spend time viewing the night sky, celebrating the colors, magic and imagination that we discover when the sun has slipped below the horizon and the blanket of night is upon us.

After celebrating these works, you will surely view the moon tonight with new eyes...

Maureen, a talented artist, created this stunning piece.

"Help Dorothy and Toto sing: Somewhere over the orange moons/Lilac skies bloom/Pink stars glow and shi-ine/Why, then oh why, can't I?" asks Maureen.

Agathe, creator of Meherio68, created this gorgeous Moon River ring.

"This is my Moon River ring, "my Huckleberry friend", telling of dreams and travelling, of smooth and rough, in gorgeous Japanese ceramics and plain pine wood... Modelled by my lovely niece and goddaughter, Hortense," said Agathe.

Salvaged Expression created this phenomenal piece.

"For my (dare I say triumphant?) return I decided to try my hand at the ever popular glass magnets. They were a real pleasure to make and I think I'll be making more in the upcoming weeks. This set depicts the moon in all of its phases and a big iridescent magnet with a scientific diagram of the moon circling the earth. Each one glows in the dark which makes my inner geek feel very warm and fuzzy," said Salvaged.

Felicia Kramer, creator of Another Bright Idea, created this stellar piece titled, “Who knows”.

"By my favorite poet, e e cummings:
“who knows if the moon’s a balloon,
coming out of a keen city
in the sky filled with pretty people?”

"You can see the complete delightful poem on my blog today," said Felicia.

Marja, creator of Glass Elements, created these truly fabulous Blue Moons - Fused Glass Earrings. http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=28873339

"These adorable small earring posts remind me of a full shiny blue moon – simple, elegant and sparkling in the night sky. When they came out of the kiln this week, I knew I had the perfect little moons to share with all of you," said Marja.

Amanda, creator of Persistent Green, created this fantastic handmade and painted Journal in progress.

""Over the moon," to me, is all about excitement--in particular, excitement about my new binding machine! I was desperately hoping to get my journal for this theme bound, but between all the house repairs and stress this week, I just wasn't able to finish. Please enjoy my work in progress, and prepare yourself for seeing many bound journals in the future!" said Amanda.

Kelsey, creator of Caffeinated Frenzy, created this sensational cashmere lace scarf titled, "Direction."

"I've been working on a series of recycled lace scarves, in my own reversible lace stitches that I've been developing. This one got me thinking about direction and how sometimes its best to slow down, let life's adventure just happen. The wind gives us a push, or knocks us on the ground, or flies us over the moon," said Kelsey.

Jodi, creator of Jodi Horgan Beaded Art to Wear, created this magnificent piece titled, "Three Quarter Moon".

Kris, creator of Lisianblue, created this awe-inspiring piece.

"I was over the moon getting some great pictures of some wonderful hummingbirds. So, I thought it would be fun to have one fly "Over the Moon" !"

I have a few minutes so here goes ---
Interesting how a few of us were inspired by "moon" music or poetry.
Maureen - orange moons and pink stars - sweet!
Agathe - a lovely unusual ring after an all-time favorite song and movie (Breakfast at Tiffany's).
Salvaged - cool magnets. Like the irridescent ones.
Marja - I mostly wear post earrings and I am liking these - a lot!
Amanda - Boy do I know the feeling of unfinished work. Looks wonderful so far.
Kelsey - This scarf looks both contemporary and vintage at the same time. Neat idea!
Jodi - Everything you do takes my breath away. Another gorgeous piece!
Kris - Photos of hummingbirds! I can't even get them to come to my garden, much less take a pic! Great job!
Trina - It's a tossup which I like best, but I think I'm leaning towrd the pendant. Beautifully intricate.

Natasha - good job on those
"surprise" artists. They'll be thrilled!

I agree, Natasha, this is one the most stunning Treats to date sonce I've been around.
I'm particularly enamoured with the glass pieces. Love the glowing magnets and positively covet the ear studs...
I also have a soft spot for your watercolour, Maureen, I think this is probably my favourite piec by you so far. I couldn't say why precisely, but it makes me smile quietly— gives me a moon-like face— (^-^)
Oh and before I forget: I think this idea of "inviting people over" is one more wonderful idea!

Greetings!

Awesome as ever! :-) Both time & my beads got away from me this week, so it's a Mini-monthly for me, but I must say the viewing adds a much-needed wondrousness to my week. :-)

Hope to be back later w/more detailed thoughts, but in the meantime know that all the pieces were viewed & valued! :-)

Thank you all so much for sharing!!! :-)

Greetings!

Natasha, thnx so much for the early announcing of the next theme. :-) It does help in the playing, I think, or at least it does for me, this week's absence notwithstanding. :-D

I have an awesome idea for next week's theme if I can get it to be obedient. :-)

And I agree w/Felicia - what a fun way to include more people in the TST! :-) Awesome on you for the thinking of it! :-)

Beautiful items everyone! I'm so glad to be back so I can see all of these wonderful creations again!
I think my favorites are the blue moon earrings and the 3/4 moon. Of course I'll probably add to that list everytime I look at the submissions again.
