On the days that I'm stuck, I often need a little jolt to get my creative juices flowing. So, I step into my time machine - otherwise known as my iPod - and take a trip. When I listen to music, I feel as though I'm dreaming despite the fact that my eyes are wide open. My mind immediately fills with images and ideas.

Some songs, like U2's "All I Want is You", take me back to moments from my past while others like their new song, "Magnificent" brings about future dreams. The theme from the film, Gladiator, makes me cry while Dave Matthew's makes me ponder life. Music rips into the center of me, shakes me up and makes me come to the blank page filled with ideas.
Sometimes I wonder if I had a soundtrack that played along with my daily life, what would it sound like? What sort of effect would it have on those around me? I have been told that others can "feel' my emotions when they are around me. I don't even need to speak, they can feel it. That's such an interesting thought. Could that be my personal soundtrack? If it is true that I wear my emotions on my sleeve and that those emotions are the key notes in my personal soundtrack then I hope that whatever anyone "feels' when they are around me causes them to shake it and have a little fun.

What about you? Do people "feel" your emotions? Do you often pick up on other's emotions without them even having to speak? And what role does music play in your life? What songs inspire and move you?

My 13yo just composed an instrumental piano piece for me for Mother's Day. I'm having it copyrighted and would love for you to hear it someday. But basically the songs he play are just inspiring to me. Aside from the classical songs that he play, my favorites are Billy Joel's "And so it goes" and Elton John's "Mona Lisas and MadHatters".
But when I'm with the kids, we love to sing Journey's "Don't stop believing" and Bon Jovi's while we're driving back from the shore.
(Check out the kids' video in YouTube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21DjQNxY1Ps )

BTW, I just checked-out Jodi's blog and I am totally DIG that ring! I have to show it to my honey (It's our anniversary tomorrow)

There's something about TST that just makes me keep sharing all these things about me! Oh well..

New Hope eh? So close and yet so far! I'll be in the Delta area (roughly) on that day anyway or I'd seriously consider it.

Natasha,

Thanks for posting about my new baby (blog) and the Etsy Beadweavers Monthly Challenge. Talk about some talented people. It is really incredible what these other beaders make each month. I hope everyone will go take a look.

I love how music can take you to a specific moment in your life. When my husband and I got married, the first song we danced to was "Brown Eyed Girl". Every time I hear that song I am immediately taken back to the moment and I love that. BTW, I have blue eyes, but oh well.

I also love that music can instantly change my mood. If I'm feeling down I put on a specific song and I can instantly feel the change. Music also makes things feel a lot easier, like doing housework. If I can't get a good groove going, I can fly through the dirty dishes in no time.
